Fred thumbs up - Front Range Explorin’

Fred Says

Don’t make a beeline for the playground and miss the rest of the park!

Founders Park has some pretty cool details scattered around that connect the park to Superior’s mining history.

Wander around a little, try something new, and see what you discover. That’s explorin’!

Why You’ll Love This Park

Founders Park isn’t just a playground sitting in the middle of a grassy field. There are things to discover throughout the park, making it a good choice when the family wants a little variety.

Kids can climb and play, older visitors can try the fitness features, families can shoot some hoops or toss a ball around, and everyone can slow down and notice the mining-inspired details incorporated into the park.

The mix of recreation and local history is what helps Founders Park stand out from a typical neighborhood park.

Things To Do

Basketball

Shoot Some Hoops. There is a basketball court at the park. The Town of Superior specifically lists Founders Park as one of its public basketball court locations.

Outdoor Fitness icon: Front Range Explorin’

Outdoor Fitness

Outdoor exercise elements are incorporated throughout the park, giving adults and older kids something different to try as they explore.

Picnic icon: Front Range Explorin’

Picnic

Picnic tables and a pavilion make this a good park for lunch, snacks or a family get-together. The pavilion is listed as reservable during the Town’s 2026 summer season.

Playground Area

Founders Park has more than a basic neighborhood playground. The play area incorporates climbing, balancing, and traditional playground elements with the park’s mining-inspired design.

4.0 Out of 5

I visited Founders Park in Superior, Colorado, and explored it firsthand. I dig the park’s shade and views, but was disappointed by only 1 dog waste station, which wasn’t convenient to the main park area. If it were not for that I would have given the park 5 solid paws!
