Reservations: The Nature Play Pavilion is available for reservation during Westminster’s pavilion rental season. The pavilion includes a large covered gathering area and is designed for group outings, celebrations and family gatherings. Nature Play Pavilion Reservation Information

Hours / Seasonal Notes: The park is open from sunrise until 11 PM unless otherwise posted. The water-play feature operates seasonally from Memorial Day through Labor Day and may close because of weather, drought, maintenance or other operational concerns.

Parking: Parking is available near the park. Posted signs limit parking to three hours in designated areas, and overnight parking is not allowed. Accessible parking spaces are provided.

Park hours, pavilion reservations, parking restrictions, water-play hours, restroom availability and other park amenities are subject to change. Check the City of Westminster website and posted park signs for the most current information before visiting.

Best Times to Visit

Quieter Times: Weekday mornings are generally a good choice for a more relaxed visit. It’s a nice time to explore the nature playground, walk the paved paths, enjoy the open space, or settle into one of the shaded picnic areas before more families arrive.

Busier Times: Warm-weather weekends and afternoons are likely to bring more families, especially when the seasonal water-play feature is operating. The nature playground, pavilion, picnic tables, and nearby trail connections give visitors plenty of reasons to spend several hours here.

Fred’s Tip: On a warm summer day, arrive earlier and give the kids plenty of time to explore before the afternoon heats up. Bring a towel and change of clothes when the water-play feature is running, then grab one of the umbrella-shaded tables or the pavilion for a comfortable lunch break.

Catch Lake Estes on a calm morning and the water can reflect the mountains, trees, and sky like a giant mirror.

Lake Estes looks completely different depending on when you visit. Green summer mornings, golden fall colors, snowy winter landscapes… same lake, completely different personality.

Keep me leashed in the park, bring my water bowl, and remember — the water-play area is for people, not pups!”
